Problem Statement #1:

One of the major problems faced by the world is the proper disposal of waste or effective waste management system. Apart from the common household, this problem is largely faced during huge gatherings. The waste management hardships are catalyzed by the large number of people, limited space for waste disposal, human interference in waste collection and disposal and the ignorance among the common people on the importance of waste segregation. Recommend a system which can automatically detect the distribution and monitoring of waste containers to determine their location and quantities of waste. The location of the various waste bins must be determined based on whether the waste bin has reached its maximum capacity and is ready to be transported to the compressor. The data on the waste management should be tracked and analyzed for further reporting.

Problem Statement #2:

The United Nations points out that should the world’s population reach 9.6 billion by the year 2050, we would need the equivalent of almost three planets to sustain current lifestyles. By taking steps today, each one of us can help towards a sustainable and greener planet. With the advent of online shopping, online eateries etc., the number of packages being generated is multifold. Sustainable packaging refers to the sourcing, development, and use of packaging solutions that have minimal environmental impact and footprint. Sustainable packages are manufactured and transported using renewable energy, uses recycled materials, uses materials that are friendly in likely end-of-life scenarios, and is physically designed to minimize materials and optimize energy use. Develop a tool to predict the Carbon Footprint based upon manual input of packaging details – Material, size etc. The tool should also be able to provide recommendations to reduce material use by decreasing packaging size, weight, or thickness, packaging materials with more recycled content etc.

Problem Statement #3:

Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a disorder of the development of movement and posture, causing limitations in activity, perception, cognition, communication, and behavior. The children tend to have an abnormal development of movement and balance control owing to neurological conditions. They may encounter low muscle strength and selective control over their movement. The traditional therapy methods include massages, orthopedic hand manipulations, physiotherapy, occupational therapy etc. Assume that there is a gamified platform that houses multiple games and activities that is used for the therapy of hands, legs and overall body movements. Each of these games will require the child to move his hands, legs or body in the forward, backward, left and right directions to complete the game. The movements of the children may be detected using sensors or device cameras. Each game will generate a score based on the ability of the child to achieve the target. The score for each game is downloadable in excel format. Develop an application that will be able to consume the score and generate 1) insights on the movements the child can achieve as well as the improvements needed. 2) Recommendations on the games and activities that the child should undertake based on his improvement level. 3) Periodic analytics that shows attempts and scores.
